One of Central Florida’s premier modern luxury barn wedding venues, Legacy at Oak Meadows is situated about an hour’s drive from Orlando and Daytona Beach in the countryside of Pierson, FL. Spanning nearly 30 acres of rustic beauty, the property is a family-owned wedding venue that holds to the beauty and sanctity of marriage and of celebrating two people beginning one life together.
Before you walk down the aisle, you and your bridal party can make use of Legacy at Oak Meadows’ Bridal Bungalow and Groom’s Lounge. The intimate Bridal Bungalow offers a cozy, comfortable space for the ladies to prepare for the big day including six dedicated hair and makeup stations, an indoor bathroom, and a private outdoor porch. Meanwhile, the gentlemen can relax in style with the Groom’s Lounge’s comfortable leather seating, poker table, and mini fridge—and then partake in an exclusive excursion such as clay shooting or catch & release bass fishing on the property while waiting for the ladies to finish preparations (or the other way around!).
Wedding ceremonies at Legacy at Oak Meadows can choose from one of three picturesque settings (depending on your wedding package): the Ceremony Lawn, the Sawgrass Barn, or the White Lavender Barn. Ceremonies on the outdoor Ceremony Lawn are framed by arching Spanish moss-covered trees, providing an intimate feel in the heart of the stunning property. Wooden ceremony benches and a wooden bridal arch complete the scene, and the scenery provides all the natural decoration you need! The Sawgrass Barn is an open-air, covered pavilion ideal for intimate weddings or for rainy days, with a gorgeous pond serving as the backdrop to your vows. Finally, should poor weather or heat really threaten your special day, you can always choose to tie the knot inside the spacious and air-conditioned White Lavender Barn.

Now that you’ve said “I do,” it’s time to begin the real main event of the day—your wedding reception, of course!
Accommodating up to 250 (!) guests, the vast property offers numerous ways to entertain partygoers before the night begins. Full-scale weddings (see notes on intimate weddings at Legacy at Oak Meadows below) can make use of the outdoor lounge at the Summer Gather Kitchen, complete with restrooms, fire pit, and lawn games located just steps away from the outdoor Ceremony Lawn space. Should a bit of rain dampen your hors d’oeuvres, the covered Sawgrass Pavilion serves as scenic back-up alternative. (You know we love a wedding venue with a rain contingency plan!).
Once it’s time to start the party, your wedding reception takes place in the spacious indoor White Lavender Barn. This sweeping, climate-controlled modern luxury barn offers a stunning setting for your wedding reception, providing a rustic-elegant scene with all the modern amenities. White walls are offset by a natural wood ceiling and black rafters; a glittering crystal chandelier dangles delicately overhead, and the concrete-floored room provides plenty of space for dancing the night away.
Not only does the White Lavender barn come with modern conveniences of an AV system, caterer’s kitchen, and indoor restrooms, but your venue also includes full use of a collection of elegant greenery and decor pieces such as table centerpieces, farmhouse-style reception tables, whisky barrels, and even a cute vintage sewing machine table perfect for gifts or a guest book!
Intimate micro weddings at Legacy at Oak Meadows
While Legacy at Oak Meadows is best suited for weddings over 50 guests, they also offer an affordable, inclusive package for micro weddings. Intimate weddings can make use of the Sawgrass Barn pavilion for an 8hr rental (one of the more generous time frames we’ve seen for micro wedding venue packages) of up to 50 guests. Both your wedding ceremony and wedding reception will take place at the Sawgrass Barn—as of the publishing of this article, use of the larger White Lavender Barn is not included in this package. Let’s not beat around the bush: this wedding venue is gorgeous. If you’re dreaming of a rustic countryside wedding but don’t want to sacrifice elegance and class, then Legacy at Oak Meadows will be right up your alley. We love the blend of the property’s natural beauty and ranch-style details with the modern luxury of the stately White Lavender Barn. Some modern barn wedding venues veer towards one end of the spectrum or the other—either being all country or all industrial-modern—but Legacy at Oak Meadows sits perfectly balanced between the two, offering a high-end experience that doesn’t come across as fussy or over-the-top.
Attention to detail & modern conveniences
The newly-built White Lavender Barn has not left out any modern convenience: from the indoor restrooms to air-conditioning to the AV system. But we haven’t mentioned one of our favorite pros of this wedding venue: the owners have recently installed a new water filtration system, so all the water used in the restrooms smells clean! This might seem like a minor detail to mention, but many barn-style venues skip this feature, resulting in water that smells of sulfur (not a fun experience for you or your guests as you’re washing up). Other notable details that deserve a shout-out are the thoughtfully-designed Bridal Bungalow and Groom’s Lounge, complimentary use of wedding decor, and additional offerings of guys’ excursions before the wedding. It’s the little details like this that truly make Legacy at Oak Meadows stand out in their dedication to going above and beyond for their couples.
Option for an all-inclusive wedding
Legacy at Oak Meadows offers three wedding packages (at the time of writing this article): an Intimate Sawgrass Barn Wedding, Full Venue Rental, and an All-Inclusive Wedding Package. This allows the wedding venue to be an affordable reality for weddings of many sizes and budgets! We especially love how much the team provides in the All-Inclusive offering—from month-of coordinating to catering to wedding photography to floral credit, just to name a few. Considering how much these line items and more cost on their own, couples can really save a significant amount of money with this all-inclusive offering. Plus, Legacy at Oak Meadows prioritizes transparent pricing, not only listing their package costs up-front on their website but also sharing any relevant fees, deposits, and sales tax amounts that will be included.
Potential setbacks to getting married at Legacy at Oak Meadows in Central Florida
May run into pests
Like any other outdoor wedding venue in Central Florida, pests—specifically mosquitos—may be an issue at your wedding. This is nothing unusual (after all, this is Florida) and just comes part and parcel with an outdoor wedding. However, the team at Legacy at Oak Meadows sprays the day before an event, so pests are controlled to the best of the property’s ability, which is a step above and beyond what many outdoor countryside wedding venues are able or willing to offer.
Distance from wedding ceremony space to wedding reception
There is about 1/4 mile walk from the Ceremony Lawn wedding ceremony site to your wedding reception at the White Lavender Barn, so be prepared for a short walk. However, the team offers complimentary golf cart rides, including drop-off at the wedding ceremony, for mobility-challenged guests and also can provide a ramp for accessibility at the White Lavender Barn.
May be out of budget for micro weddings
While weddings of up to 50 guests can still hold their dream wedding at Legacy at Oak Meadows, some of our more budget-conscious micro wedding couples may find the package offering a bit out of budget. We believe the cost is worth it given the amenities and beauty of the wedding venue, but we also understand more and more couples are seeking to tie the knot with as little expense as possible. That being said, we shared our passion for micro weddings with the owners, and they are hoping to offer more affordable intimate wedding options in the future and also expressed a desire to help couples find custom options that fit their needs.
