What we most love about having a wedding at Daytona Beach’s Museum of Arts & Sciences

Jaw-dropping wedding ceremony and reception spaces

If you’re looking to wow your guests with a jaw-dropping modern wedding, we can’t think of many more incredible—and unique—places to get married than the Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art’s Permanent Gallery. If you’re an art lover, looking for a classy and elegant-themed wedding (at a fraction of the cost, we might add), or just looking for a beautiful indoor wedding space (because we all know getting married outdoors in Florida in the summer is…a choice), then look no further than this hidden gem of Central Florida’s best wedding venues.

Take your bridal portraits among the art galleries

One of the most unique features of this art museum wedding is the fact that your first look or bridal portrait photos can be taken among the empty art galleries! Not only do these make for beautiful, timeless wedding photos, but it’s like having a mini date night for you and your beloved. After all the chaos and hustle of your wedding day, imagine the quiet and intimacy of sneaking off, just the two of your (and your wedding photographer, of course!) to browse through the museum’s art galleries while your guests mix and mingle elsewhere. Especially if you’re naturally introverted like our featured couple, Lindsay & Brad, you’ll appreciate having a few quiet moments to connect in the middle of your special day.

Entertain your guests while they wait

When you’re planning a wedding, you have to consider how to keep your guests happy and entertained throughout the day, especially in downtime such as waiting for your wedding ceremony to begin or between the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. If you book a wedding at an art gallery like Daytona Beach’s Museum of Arts and Sciences, your guests can browse the museum’s galleries and grounds while they wait! No cheesy cocktail hour games—just allow them to enjoy the exhibits (and make sure they don’t wander too far and risk missing your wedding reception!).

Potential setbacks to having a wedding at Daytona Beach’s Museum of Arts & Sciences

Getting ready in a conference room

One of the drawbacks of planning your wedding at Daytona Beach’s Museum of Arts and Sciences is that, for wedding ceremonies held in the Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, the primary place to get ready for your wedding day is in one of their conference rooms. Now, for our clients this wasn’t a concern as this room proved spacious enough to hold the bride and her family as they all prepared for the big day together, but if you’re looking for a romantic, picturesque place for getting ready photos on your wedding day, this space may not be up your alley.

Limited outdoor wedding photo opportunities

While the Museum of Arts and Sciences does sit on some beautiful outdoor grounds, we didn’t notice many places to take outdoor bridal portraits. While there are a few scenic spots, most photos will likely have the museum in the background of your photos. We’d recommend planning to take all of your bridal portraits, first look photos, and family portraits indoors inside your rented space at the museum and see any outdoor wedding photo opportunities as a bonus. Trust us, within the walls of the museum there is no shortage of opportunities for wow-worthy wedding photos! However, if you have your heart set on sunset hour bridal portraits taken outdoors, you may want to travel offsite to the beach (a short drive away) or another public area before returning to the museum for your wedding reception.

It’s surprisingly affordable to get married at the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach, FL. As an affordable indoor wedding venue in Central Florida, this one takes the cake for bang for your buck. Wedding ceremony space rentals start at $800 and range up to $3,000 with a full museum buy-out of $5,000. Final thoughts

Honestly? I’m a bit jealous that we didn’t host our own wedding at an art gallery! This incredible wedding venue is sure to be one that your guests will remember for years to come. If you’re looking for a unique place to hold your wedding ceremony and wedding reception for a wedding like none other, the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach, FL must certainly be on your list. We most love the affordability of this venue as it offers numerous spots to hold a wedding ceremony and wedding reception for nearly any budget, or renting out the entire museum for the same cost as most other wedding venues (which, notably do not include art galleries, so that’s a bonus!) in the area. We really were grasping at straws to list potential setbacks to this wedding venue in our review, so we’d consider any drawbacks as more so personal preferences rather than true concerns with this venue.

Overall, we absolutely loved our wedding photography & videography client’s wedding day experience at Museum of Arts and Sciences and can’t wait for our next wedding there!
