Lindsay & Corbin’s intimate boho wedding at Venue 1824 in Melbourne, FL

Intimate Boho Modern Micro Wedding at Venue 1824, Melbourne, FL | Orlando Wedding Photographer & Wedding Videographer

It’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day, right?

Lindsay & Corbin! What a fun, energetic, and stunning couple. It was an honor to capture these lovebirds’ truly special intimate, modern boho micro wedding at Venue 1824 in Melbourne, FL a few weeks ago, and I’m excited to share their full wedding photography gallery and wedding video with the world!

My wife and I are longtime family friends of Corbin’s parents, so when mother-of-the-groom Deb heard that Lindsay was in search of a wedding photographer for their upcoming intimate micro wedding in Melbourne, FL, she referred us to the bride. Naturally, Lindsay was skeptical at first. A referral that starts with “oh, I have a friend who’s a photographer” doesn’t always end well, but as she told me on our initial consultation call, she was thoroughly impressed by our work and our website (my wife, Amy, who designed our website was quite gratified to hear this)!

Lindsay & Corbin had planned a beautiful beachside wedding—yes, in November: that’s the perfect time of year in Florida for an outdoor beach wedding!—but a rare cold front brought a torrential downpour upon their wedding day plans. Literally. The day before the wedding was a mad rush for Lindsay & Corbin to find a backup wedding venue, but they were in luck with the up-and-coming Venue 1824 in Melbourne, FL.

Venue 1824 is a soon-to-be-launched wedding venue in Melbourne, FL. This historic venue—originally built in 1893!—is a charming church turned events space. Featuring breathtaking stained-glass windows, original hardwood floors and exposed wood beam ceilings, this sweet spot was full of historic charm for Lindsay & Corbin’s wedding day.

A beautiful boho micro wedding

Just before Lindsay & Corbin’s wedding began, they requested a first look inside the bridal getting-ready room. This was such a sweet, heartfelt addition to their special day! While most of our couples choose to wait til they walk down the aisle, we love a first look as a quiet moment the bride and groom can share together before saying their vows.

As guests enjoyed pre-ceremony cocktails, groom Corbin could be found laughing and mingling with friends and family as he waited for bride Lindsay’s entrance.

The wedding ceremony went off without a hitch, set against the gorgeous backdrop of historic Venue 1824’s wood-trimmed 130-year-old sanctuary. This intimate wedding was shared with about 50-70 guests, the perfect size for a small micro wedding!

After the wedding ceremony, we immediately captured family photos and bridal portraits inside the wedding venue. Sadly, the rain prevented us from venturing outdoors for bridal portraits, but I still love how sweet the photos of Lindsay & Corbin’s special day turned out! As any wedding photographer knows, gathering friends and family for formal portraits after a wedding ceremony can be a challenge, to say the least. “I don’t know how you do it, but you have a patience of a saint to herd all these cats!” quipped bride Lindsay to me as together we managed to capture all the family arrangements. (Mission accomplished!)

Rain didn’t stop their most perfect day

One of the most touching aspects of Lindsay & Corbin’s day is just how well they handled the unexpected change of plans to their original wedding dreams. Let’s be honest: facing a weather contingency is any engaged couple’s worst nightmare, no less in the week leading up to your wedding day. (Worried about bad weather at your own outdoor wedding? Read our tips for a stress-free outdoor wedding!) However, seeing just how beautifully Lindsay & Corbin’s day ended up being, how their family and friends rallied around to make this day every bit as special and perfect as it could be, and the pure joy on everyone’s faces throughout their whole wedding day made this a wedding to remember. Even though, as a wedding photographer and videographer, I do care about how your wedding photos turn out, at the end of the day what matters most is that you and your loved ones enjoy your wedding—no matter if it’s going to plan or not.

“I was so stressed and about to have a nervous breakdown, but you really took control of the situation and made me feel like everything was going to be alright.” –Bride Lindsay

Lindsay & Corbin’s wedding reception was a joyful, celebratory evening of drinks and dancing with their nearest & dearest! The reception began with the couple’s favorite country songs as guests socialized and mingled: but when it was time to party, one of their family members took over the role of DJ and man, did everyone begin to party! Young and old, friends and family, bride and groom—everyone was really having a great time and it was such a boost just to be in the room soaking it all in.

As the evening wound down, the wedding guests sent Lindsay & Corbin off to their honeymoon with a beautiful sparkler exit to cap off the night!

Congratulations again to Lindsay & Corbin and my very best wishes as you start your forever together!
