What a gorgeous day it was this October for Lauren + Jacob’s romantic wedding at the stunning Casa Feliz wedding venue in Winter Park, FL! These two sweethearts were so fun and it was an honor to be a part of their most special day.
“You really don’t realize how much time just flies by”
I met Lauren + Jacob through a mutual connection at the local Chamber of Commerce and we immediately hit it off. Bride Lauren claims she fell for my “dark and moody” photography style (always so humbling when clients say this!) and felt it would be a perfect match for her vision for her wedding photography on her upcoming wedding day.
Not only are we both dog lovers (they’re proud parents to two sweet rescue pups!), but we also share a love for Jesus and integrating our faith into everything we do—including Lauren + Jacob’s wedding ceremony.
After we arrived at the wedding venue, the Author Made team spent our time snapping photos and videos of the gorgeous grounds of Casa Feliz in Winter Park, FL. Our bride rolled in an hour behind schedule, exclaiming, “You really don’t realize how much time just flies by on the day of a wedding!”. And truer words have never been spoken! (Trust me, I’ve been to enough weddings to know this is true!). All ended going well as she and her bridesmaids quickly got ready in the bridal suite as the groom and groomsmen finished their preparations in the dedicated grooms suite.
Casa Feliz: A romantic wedding venue with a European fairytale feel
Casa Feliz is a popular wedding venue in Winter Park, FL and it’s not hard to see why. This stunning, romantic Spanish farmhouse style wedding venue evokes the charm and elegance of 19th century Spain, perfect for transporting you and your guests from the lush tropics of Florida to your very own European fairy tale. The historic home has been beautifully restored and preserved in its signature style, featuring whitewashed bricks, Spanish roof tiles, lush landscaping, and its signature bell tower.
The wedding ceremony was held in the romantic backyard of the historic home, in front of an antique wooden door set in a sweeping archway underneath a rustic timber balcony. With bright, Mediterranean-colored shutters, this backdrop needs no decorations!
What we love most about Casa Feliz is the small, intimate feel of the wedding venue. It truly is like getting married in a private home that oozes luxury, romance, and plenty of character all on its own. Casa Feliz hosts up to 120 guests, with a small indoor area for mixing & mingling and a stunning courtyard decked with twinkling market lights for an eveningtime reception. If you’re looking for a romantic, intimate wedding venue in the Orlando area of Central Florida, we can’t recommend Casa Feliz highly enough!
Not a dry eye in sight
After emotional first looks with the groom and his mom, and the bride and her father, it was time for Lauren + Jacob’s wedding ceremony. Their intimate celebration began with the sweetest flower girl, Jacob’s sister, who looked stunning in her lovely red dress! As the wedding ceremony continued (officiated by the wonderful Loni of Sensational Ceremonies), there was not a dry eye in sight as Lauren + Jacob exchanged their vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
Following the wedding ceremony, we quickly whisked the family off for their family portrait session—we had over 40 arrangements in total to capture, but got through them all in 20 minutes (“I thought we were behind schedule!” laughed bride Lauren when she realized how quickly we’d done all the family photos!).
We only had a few minutes to do the first bridal photo session with Lauren + Jacob before their wedding reception began, but we made good use of the time before sending the newlyweds off to get the party started.
After a surprise bridal party entrance to kick off the wedding reception, guests offered heartfelt speeches and toasts to the bride and groom before the guests moved to the courtyard garden for the eveningtime reception.
Once again, we stole Lauren + Jacob away from their family and friends for an intimate golden hour session, taking advantage of the warm sunset lighting and the sweeping, romantic grounds of the Casa Feliz wedding venue.
Our work being done, the Author Made team exchanged farewells and best wishes before setting off as the newlyweds and their loved ones started to dance the night away!
