Love during lockdown

Lindsay and Brad met online right as the pandemic began in 2020. Their budding relationship endured throughout lockdown and after a few years together, Brad popped the question to Lindsay!

I met Lindsay almost ten years ago during a time when we were both attending the same church. One of our mutual friends is a past bride ours here at Author Made, Katherine & Justin, and shortly after her engagement, Lindsay reached out to me because she had seen our work for her close friend Katherine (and even attended her wedding as a guest!). Lindsay told me how impressed she’d been with what we did and wanted to hire us for her own special day.

Introverts say “I do”

As quiet and introverted individuals, Lindsay and Brad wanted a more simple, no-fuss wedding day. Their laid-back approach was reflected in their wedding guest list—just family and closest friends—rounding out to about 50 people: the perfect size for a small, intimate micro-wedding.

But contrary to these sweet introverts’ personalities was their jaw-dropping venue!

The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach, FL is one of the premiere cultural gems of Central Florida, with the Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art being the centerpiece of the Museum’s diverse range of venues. The Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art is a modern venue showcasing a vast collection of Florida-centric art pieces, telling the story of Florida from a diverse range of artists. Lindsay and Brad’s theme for their wedding was minimalistic, modern, and classic, and they couldn’t have picked a more perfect wedding venue. With the museum’s high ceilings and contemporary finishes, and a ceremony space surrounded by stunning works of classic art, their special day exuded luxurious charm yet also intimacy and warmth.

The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach, FL is an incredible indoor wedding venue for ceremonies or receptions in the Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Cocoa Beach, or Central Florida area. With an indoor ceremony space among the stunning art galleries and several options for an indoor wedding reception venue, this wedding location is one we can’t wait to visit again! Perfect for summer weddings in Florida when the weather is especially hot, making indoor weddings a must. If you’re planning a beach wedding in central Florida during the summer, consider this venue just a short drive from Florida’s most beautiful beaches (and plan to take bridal portraits during golden hour on the coast for the best of both worlds!).

Micro-wedding at the Museum of Arts and Sciences

The wedding day itself was nothing but a labor of love with the entire family helping out to set everything up, with special personal touches professionally done by Lindsay’s aunt, who served as wedding coordinator. One of my favorite moments from this beautiful day was the moment when Lindsay did a first look with her dad. It was such a sweet moment to capture as the two shared some final quiet moments together before the whole day began!

As everyone arrived to celebrate Lindsay & Brad, several guests spent a few early moments wandering around to enjoy the various art galleries (another bonus for this stunning venue: entertaining guests before and after the ceremony!). The ceremony itself was short and sweet, officiated by one of the elders of Lindsay & Brad’s church who is also a close family friend. Serving as a jaw-dropping backdrop to this intimate wedding was the sweeping flight of stairs leading up to the two-story art gallery.

After the couple said “I do”, I whisked them away for a bridal photography session throughout the museum. It was so sweet to watch them wandering around the art displays in their wedding attire! I highly recommend couples doing this, as this is in some ways a really cute way to have a “first date” as a married couple right after you say your vows!

The couple held an intimate reception where loved ones gathered around to wish them well and offer their congratulations. After dancing and merriment, Lindsay & Brad were whisked off to their honeymoon with a nighttime send-off.

Congrats to Lindsay & Brad, and thank you for letting us play a role in your love story!
